German Beer Bread


3 cups self-rising flour
3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
12 ounces of a good german beer

Add Cheese or Jalapeno pepper if you want.
Charlie also has topped the bread with a little butter and grated Romano.

Substitution for Self Rising Flour
Turn all-purpose flour into one cup of self-rising flour by adding 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt to one cup all-purpose flour.


1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Add any fun flavoring ingredients , from cheese to nuts, or apricots to raisins.

2. Grease the bread pan and pour in the ingredients .

3. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour, till the bottom is nicely browned or a toothpick comes clean.
