Overnight Kuchen

This is a very popular dish up in the Dakota's

Ingredients:

Kuchen dough
4 cups of flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup of shortening.
2 eggs
1 cup lukewarm water
1pkg. yeast dissolved in1/4 cup lukewarm water I no more than (110 degrees)

Custard:
4 cups sour cream
3 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
6 eggs

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons melted margarine.

Makes 8- 12 inch foil or glass pie pans

1. Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and shortening like a pie dough.

2. add the egg, water and yeast and work into a nice dough ball. Do not knead excessivley.

3. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Next morning, roll dough out into 8 foil pie tins.

Make the Custard

1. Bring all ingredients to a boil(until it starts to thicken) then Cool

2. Spread on Kuchen dough.

Make the Topping:

1. Mix brown sugar and flour very well,

2. A dd margarine and mix again.

3. Sprinkle cinnamon over everything.

Bake at 350 for about 30 min.
