German Soup Recipes

Germany has a rich heritage of making soups. There are many different styles here are a few. Vegetable soups are often topped with little dumplings. Cabbage soups land Borscht are also popular.

a creamy soup such as asparagus, or green bean soup or interesting soups such as Horseradish soup are often thickened with potatoes and then garnished with the featured item. Among those truly German are Sauerkraut soup and Kartoffelsuppe. (potato soup)

Beer Cheese soup is very popular and a feature in many restaurants.

Another style of soup is the Goulash soup. This is very popular it is generally a broth style meat and potato soup seasoned paprika. Dumplings of different kinds can be served with these.

Then there are fruit soups that are garnished with croutons or dumplings.
