 How come an Easter "Bunny" and Why did he leave Eggs?

I never questioned this as a youth, I just wanted the eggs,
especially the chocolate ones also the marshmellow Peeps.

So now I question almost everything, unless it is something
I am afraid may destroy a wonderful myth I am not ready to give up yet!

Anyway this story starts with not a Greek goddess as you may suspect, but up in England an Anglo-Saxon goddess of Spring, Estore.

Eoster loved children and they loved her so much that they followed her everywhere. Her favorite animal was the rabbit. So how did the rabbit or bunny end up bringing eggs to all the children ?
