Chicken and Flat Rolled Dumplings

1 1/2 lb chicken
1 1/2 cup water 1/2 tsp. salt 1 stalk diced celery
1 onion diced
Disjoint chicken and remove skin Place in large dutchoven or pan. Add water and above ingredients. Simmer.. Return chicken to chicken stock and bring to a boil. Add rolled dumplings.

Dumplings Combine 1 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder
and 1/4 tsp. salt. Cut in 1 tbsp. shortening
Add 1/2 cup of milk to make a stiff dough. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 1 inch strips, squares or diamonds
Add to chicken mixture. Cook til chicken and dumplings are tender..
