                                                         GERMAN DARK MAIDENS IN SKIRTS : MOHRLE IM HEMD

4-6 servings.

1 cup butter or hard margarine
2/3 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk
25 to 30 ladyfingers
2 tablespoons rum
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped

Cream margarine or butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolks, continuing to beat until thoroughly blended. Melt chocolate bits in top of double boiler over hot (not boiling) water. Add milk, stirring to combine thoroughly. Cool. Gradually add chocolate milk to margarine mixture; stir until thoroughly blended. Sprinkle ladyfingers with rum. In a deep 2-quart casserole, arrange alternate layers of ladyfingers and chocolate mixture. Chill thoroughly. Decorate with whipped cream. Serve cold.
