SNIP SOUP

Kartoffel Noodle Soup

They called it Grum-fada snitzla Nifla (that is how it sounds)

4-5 potatoes , peeled and diced
2 medium onions diced

Cook onions in butter until just starting to brown

Put potatoes in pot and add water and cooked onion
salt to taste

Noodles

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup water, or as needed


make noodle dough of flour, salt, egg and cold water, dough should be tough. pull off some dough and roll into a rope about finger size and then snip with scissors into the boiling potatoes. cook until  little noodles and potatoes are done.

When our daughters were small they called this snip soup. We still do
