Some Appetizer Ideas for an Oktoberfest Celebration

German Appetizer Board

Called
Vorspeisenbrettl
on German menus.

You can get really creative with these. I love the different cheese spreads and the toppings on wonderful German Breads! And of course radishes and pretzels are a MUST!

In this recipe I include, versions of a Camembert, Brie type spread called Obatzda, and an American style with cheddar cheese and a bacon spead called Greibschmalz that is really cool.

German Style
Buffalo Wings

This is a fun recipe to add a bit of German to the famous American Bufffalo wing. There is a lot of German culture in Buffalo so this is not phony.  This is a Sauerbraten type marinade and you can put a bit of Buffalo heat to spice up your Oom Pah!

Pumpernickel Crudites with Salmon lox

This is a great combination, a base of cocktail Pumpernickel with some salmon lox, some red onion,  fresh dill and capers. Truly an excellent appy for any meal of the day.
