Halloween American Tradition,
So are St. Louis BBQ Pork Steaks
(Yeah the OTHER BBQ Item)

So it's almost Halloween and I suppose I should be doing a
newsletter on the history of Trick or Treat.

It truly is historically Americana, and European to some degree
and it's becoming a popular event in
other countries, thanks to America.....(is that a good thing?)
Heck yea isn't it just a lot of fun.

I couldn't do better than this for a history of Halloween.
Short Sweet, and Lots of Cool new Factoids.

I really recommend this, and I hit the subscribe button and so I get an email notice if they have a new video out.

So Let's get onto important things like a truly Americana food,
and hey it's getting down there and towards winter and our BBQ days may be numbered.

The History of St. Louis BBQ Pork Steaks

I met Greg Baily an accomplished author that writes also about Food History, and from St. Louis.
He sent me this article to see if I knew about this icon of the "Gateway to the West" city?

I had no idea but was glad to discover, because this technique is simple but unique and tasty
and will definitely become part of my Food History Menu, and maybe Halloween

I did know that St. Louis is getting known for a distinct style of BBQ,
especially St. Louis Style Ribs, I didn't know that they also had a cuisine all it's own,
with dishes like, "The Slinger", "The Concrete", "Gooey Butter Cake"
to name just a few. You can view more St. Louis Favorites Here

So go here now or while your waiting for your Trick or Treaters,
and read about...

This is our history of my grandmother and how she came over from Germany at the turn of the century.

Her German heritage blended with the new world and her new family and this is her story and the recipes that go with it.

We discuss our heritage and German recipes and German food history in this newsletter
