Strammer Max

This is a fabulous breakfast. The flavor of the Leberkäse and onions mingling with the egg yolk on a crisp raft ( toast) is absolutely wonderful.

Ingredients:
Per Person

2 slices of Leberkäse
1 half medium onion cut in strips
1 slice of toast
1 egg
oil and butter for frying

Recipe for Leberkäse

Take 2 slices of Leberkäse (Fleischkäse) and fry it with a sliced onion in olive oil and if you like a little butter.

When you get nice brown crust on the Leberkäse and the onions are golden you are ready to fry your egg sunny side up. I really like using a bit of real butte when I fry the egg. I think it makes a significant difference.

Butter the toast and put on the plate. Top with the Leberkäse, then sunny side up egg and finish with the fried onions. The egg yolk acts a bit as a sauce for this most satisfying breakfast.
