Make the Cabbage Rolls from this recipe;

Make the rolls but instead of cooking them raw in the pot,
we are going to slow cook them on the BBQ with a little smoke.

What you will need is a wood plank to put the cabbage rolls on.

For the BBQ you need some Briquetts and cherry or alder wood is nice to slow smoke these.

You can also do Stuffed Peppers this way using this recipe

Gefullte Paprikaschotten , Stuffed Bell Peppers

Make the cabbage rolls as you would for the braised style.

Place the rolls on the planks seam side down. I rub a bit of olive oil on the planks first.

Get some good coals going, ad a pice of cherry or alder wood to the fire...

...and place the planks indirectly on the BBQ
close the lid and let it cook for 30 to 45 minutes or so.

The Rolls will brown a bit on top and develop a nice smoky flavor. You can serve them now with a sauce of your choice.
I like the one in our recipe

Another way to do the rolls on the BBQ is to just simmer in the pot with the sauce and put an oven safe pot directly over the fire on the BBQ. You can keep the kitchen cooler this summer and also enjoy the outdoors.
