Gather your ingredients, and what I think is one of the most important tools for baking, a digital scale.
For a simple ratio,
1 cup Flour
1-1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Table Salt

Let's make a larger batch.
Set the bowl on the scale, set it for grams and push tare to bring it to 0
Add 1000 grams AP flour

Set a new tare for another bowl and measure out 70 grams baking powder.
You can of course just set a new tare on the bowl with the flour, but if you get too much in
it is hard to take it out.

Set a new tare for a little cup and measure out 15 grams table salt.

Mix it all together very well. Mix for at least a minute to make sure it is all mixed up really well.

Store in a closed container.
If a recipe says use a cup of flour, use a cup of self rising flour,
and omit the baking powder and salt.
